Team Coaching - Performance Talks Team Development

When a team outgrows individual performance and learns team confidence, excellence becomes a reality. Joe Paterno

It has been well established that true high functioning teams outperform groups of high functioning individuals. The challenge is that companies often don't know where to implement teams or how to develop them. When they are formulated, teams are expected to come together and figure out how to work together often times without the skills or training to optimize the way the team works together. Despite their best intentions team members find themselves out of alignment working at cross-purposes. Tension builds and time and resources are wasted.

Enter the Performance Talks Team Development Process. A Performance Talks Team Development Coach works with the team to clarify their purpose and objectives. Once the team has agreement about a common purpose, the Coach then helps the team define the roles and expectations for each member of the team. The team works through any changes in the composition of the team as necessary with the assistance of the coach. Finally the coach facilitates the definition of an ongoing process of communication, action and interacting that the team can implement themselves going forward.

Participants in the Performance Talks Team Development Process will:

  • Clarify and define their core team purpose, goals, roles, and responsibilities
  • Discuss the difficult and "easy to avoid" subjects central to the group's progress
  • Make agreements about how they will work together and manage conflict
  • Get to know each other at a deeper level

Team Outcomes:

  • Increased productivity and performance
  • Resolution of lingering conflict
  • Greater alignment amongst team members
  • Greater tolerance and understanding amongst team members

Company Outcomes:
